Can anyone help me along in finding the parents of:

William Pedrick born 1680 in Devon. He married a Jane Evans on 24th Feb. 1699 and they had 8 children. I cannot seem to be able to find William's parents. Please help if you can and have the time. Thank you ever so much.

On FamilySearch.org there is a William Paddrick baptised 3 December 1679 at Bishops Tawton in Devon; parents Peter and Eline.

Hope this helps.

Hello Eileen, Thank you so much for your time and trouble to help me out and thank you for the information. Just one question Eileen how can I be sure if this is my William Pedrick? Is there any thing to guide me to this conclusion?

Most grateful for your help.

Regards

Colleen

Hi again Eileen, I cannot seem to find this register on Family Search.org. Am I stupid or something?

The FamilySearch website is down for maintenance at the moment.

I merely input the name with a 10 year +/- date span for baptism.

No-one can say if it is your ancestor but there was no right or wrong way of spelling that long ago. Petherick is a West Country name so other names sounding like that are probably related.

Many many thanks Eileen for your patience with me and for your valuable time. I really appreciate your input.

One more question Eileen and that is how do I go about searching for children of a couple? and how do I go about searching for parents.

Best regards

Colleen

The FamilySearch.org website is the website that I use when looking for siblings.

Input the family surname only in the search criteria followed by the county, country and a date span. Then input the parents first names and press SEARCH and see what comes up.

You may be lucky but back as far as the 17th century you are extremely fortunate to get parish records.
