I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather Hugh Dignall or any surviving family members. He came from Ireland I think sometime after the Civil War. He lived in Pennslyvania Stoneboro I believe for most of his life. I believe he came from Ulster Ireland. I have a copy of a census from 1841 here is what it said. He was 22 at the time. Census type Household, Registratin District Prescot. Sub Division Hale. Parish Childwall. County Lancshire. He was single then. He married here in America to a woman named Mary Kearns Dillinger. He became a U.S. citizen in 1876, I have a copy of his citizenship paper. He passed in June of 1919 and I believe he was born in 1819. She passed in 1937 or 1947. They had 6 daughters and 3 sons. Their names are (sons) Patsy of Sandy Lake Pa. George of Sharon Pa, Harry at home. (Daughters) Ella Jewell of Sharon Pa, Mary Hunt Girard Ohio, Kate Uber of Grove City Pa, Annie Murphy, Bessie Swartz ,Sadie Brown all of Sharon Pa. 1 sister Charlotte Livermore Pa. 46 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren at the time of her death. I am looking for info of what ship he came on, what port he came into and possibly if any locations living relatives. Especially any dates. I have my Family Tree on here and hope that someone can help me. Thank you.

A problem. If he came just after the Civil War, he could not be on the 1841 census. Civil War ended in 1864.

He was on the 1814 census in the U.K, not in the U.S. And I just posted a little more information I just found on him.

I have found out that the spelling of his last name varies. It is also spelled Degnell. And they also called him Huey. And he is from Ulster Ireland. And I also found out that the ship he came on was called The Adriatic. But do not know exactly when he came here to the United States. He became a U.S. citizen in 1876 If anyone has any information please let me know. Thank you.
