My information shows that a large number of people from Beckley Sussex came to this area in NSW, Australia.

My ancestors John and Mary Smith emigrated to Australia in 1838.

The family is not an easy one.

Parents -

John W Jones married in Beckley abt. 1794 , Sarah Taylor - Child Mary

William Smith married in Beckley 1772, Lucy Apps - child John

John Smith married 1815, Mary Jones - emigrated to Australia on the Bounty scheme 1838.

I want to try and find people from the family in Beckley to help me continue the tree. I know records for Beckley are sketchy, but there must be people who are descended from the family still around. (Possibly with their own tree)

I would be very pleased to find someone who can help me with the story.
