Doing a search for the surname Wallis in the West Ham district on the 1901 census produces 496 hits. Please can you be a bit more specific on which family you are seeking information for, first names, ages, known occupations etc. in order that the correct ones can be located.

Also to avoid someone spending hours on research in order to tell you what you may already know, please give some indication of the information that you already have and what further information you are hoping to ascertain.

Hi, Thanks very much for your prompt reply. Not sure if you have access to Ancestry.com which has my family tree on it. WALLISAUSTRALIANFAMILYTREE

Specifically trying to get information about my father, Thomas Wallis 15 June 1904 - 4 March 1983. Born West Ham to Stephen Wallis and Ellen (Woodstock). His parents migrated to Australia in 1927 leaving most of their children behind! He appears on 1911 census residing at 88 Hooper Rd West Ham with parents and siblings, then nothing until 1939 when he is listed as residing with his sister Emily Ruth Briggs (Wallis) on the 1939 War Register. The period 1911 until he married 6 July 1942, is a complete mystery. I was born in 1943. As a family we migrated to Australia in 1949.

I would dearly love to know what he did, what work or occupation, where he lived etc.

Hoping you can assist me please.
