Would anyone know who John parent are please? John Laplante married Elmire Petit in Ottawa, Ontario May 3, 1841.

Have found the marriage but no parent mention. Wondering if he is one of my missing Laplante.

From what I can read, there is a witness by the name of Antoine Laplante. Could be brother or Father. Also John was a labouror so not from a prominent family.

You may try contacting Basilique Notre Dame in Ottawa, Ontario for any info they may have on the family

I tried looking further for both John and Antoine but found nothing definative.
