TP Going Downhill

Its sad how far TP has really gone down hill.

Just a cursory look at the "announcements" forum will show you, not a single "advancement" made since Nov. 16, 2012. And that basically just being an app of the site itself. And a sad app that it is (basically no different than just running the website from your iOs).

Can we get someone in charge of TP who actually CARES?

At least some support? Maybe responses to inquiries and questions and comments? Perhaps some kind of technical support? Perhaps getting the things bought by the people who bought them?

Maybe updates? Maybe new features periodically? Help with research? (Just take a look at ancestry.com and compare to here, and there's such a huge gap in ALL of these categories its amazing).

Just look at the announcements forum, nothing new or even reported since 2012. Even if there isn't any new features, it'd still be nice to get updates or news or anything so we at least know their here and doing stuff, because as it is, it seems like they've all just disappeared since they never post, never answer technical support questions or emails, and it just seems like nothing gets done.

Just like anything else, if you don't like it and you like another product, buy that other product instead.

Granted this isn't the most dynamic site but you can always pay 6 times the cost at Ancestry.com.

Personally Tribal is just fine for what I want.

Well, 1) I'm glad your happy. 2) I agree with sad news though.

3) Ancestry.com isn't 6 times the cost here, and evenmoreso if it was, it'd be worth it for what you get.

4) I agree with Sad News and thats why I HAVE changed products. (As has a lot of people as evident by the lack of people here in the forums compared to even a year and a half ago when it was very busy here.)

5) Even if you are HAPPY with the current product, it'd be still great to get CUSTOMER SERVICE, which is something TP hasnt been doing. Emails go unanswered. Board posts go unanswered. Products bought (paid for) have not been received. Websites retain glitches because TP doesn't fix them, etc. No communications, no words, no updates, no attempts to fix their own problems, basically I question if they even have people checking their own sites and this board anymore.

I agree too. TP is a brilliant resource... but their customer service is appallingly awful. I know that originally someone did a lot of work to get the site up and running, and lots of good features have been added over time. But it has a huge number of users, who pay a fair bit to keep it going - but I always get the feeling that it is run by someone in their spare time who logs on to the forum when they have nothing better to do, and if they have a bit more spare time they develop a new feature... then they lose interest again. It certainly isn't run as an efficient business.

the only thing we ask is for a little help now and again. Not a lot to ask.

By the way....Ancestry.com takes ownership of anything you upload to their site.

Read the small print.

If you have something to hide, why are you here?

It's not that you have something to hide, it's that they can start charging people to view your work. They then send it to a dvd that they sell.

You have no say so to them selling your work.
