This feature has been around since at least 2009 when we began our family tree. I am now getting emails from frustrated members who are unable to make changes to their immediate family information e.g. death of a father.

They are being referred to me as the administrator. I was very happy with the previous arrangement as ours is a large tree and it helps to spread the load. Also members feel a sense of ownership when they can make alterations themselves.

Please bring back the 'old'.

Yes ... my family "members" have been waiting patiently for this feature to be restored. On trying to edit, they get a firm message "The email [email address] is a Member of this site not an Administrator."

I never allowed my fammily members to make edits as often they would want to add osmething that they "discovered" online for which they had no source (just somebody else's tree)... to each their own. I continue to feel that Tribal Pages is the best site for me as it allows you to tell the story of a family and not just a bunch of dates.....

Please see my note on the Technical Message board on Apr 18, at 4:19 PM explaining how to do this. It is quite straightforward.

They can only edit themselves, their children & their parents. They probably know the information on those people better than the site Administrator! They cannot change or delete other people & certainly cannot delete the tree.
