My husband was commonly known by his second name so I entered him thus: Herbert 'Michael' Taylor. Consequently he appears elsewhere in Tribal Pages as Taylor, Herbert. Is there a way of ensuring that his commonly used name appears throughout?

I tried H. 'Michael' Taylor, but that produces Taylor, H. elsewhere.

Hi Judith why not simply change the order to Michael Herbert Taylor.

You can always enter in his Notes what has happened if you so wish.

Thanks Les - I think I would feel uncomfortable with it not being historically correct, but I'll think about it.

And thanks for the link,I shall give that some time too.

Hi Judith,

You can put both names in as the first name with no spaces and use your quotation marks before and after his middle name, Michael.

Leave the middle name box empty. His two names will always show together and the quotation marks will indicate the name he goes by.

Herbert"Michael" Taylor

Hope this suits your needs,

Glenn

Thanks, Glenn, that seems to work very well. What a blessing these forums are.
