I'm sure this has been asked for many times, but why can we not have notes attached to marriages in the same way as for birth and death details ?

The NOTES are just for the person selected. You can Enter as possoble Headings.

MUSIC that will play as you look at NAME

Where the XXXX are you can put your TEXT or LINKS to your STORY pages, possibly with the Marriage photographs or Videos. Similar with Births or Anniversaries.

You can also put if you wish A MUSIC file in these NOTES.

Hi Joan, what I was trying to point out, is that the NOTES BOX is not just for BMD.

You can see that I have Linked my Wife's Name in the NOTES BOX to our wedding photographs.

If I have confused you in anyway, just e-mail me before you try anything that you do not understand.

Look at the MY LINK again and it will show you what can be achieved with Tribal Pages.

Thanks Marie, Joan was under the impression that it was only for BMD,

I was explaining that it is only a NOTES BOX, where anything can be entered applicable to that person.

A special piece of MUSIC A PHOTOGRAPH A VIDEO or LINKS to STORIES or to other SITES, as well as just TEXT.

You can add LINKS to a wealth of information in the NOTES BOX without being limited to 2500 words.

I use the "Notes" box for the census text(s) for the head of the household. And/or any other relevant info.

I use the "Notes" box for the census text(s) for the head of the household. And/or any other relevant info.

I, too, use the notes for anything that is extra to the person's family page. If the number of words is exceeding the limit I transfer all Notes info to a story page and use coding to direct readers.

I do that because I feel that the overflow of long notes, as shown in an earlier reply, makes the page appear untidy and is repetitious.

I am happy with the status quo but can see no reason why the Notes box can't have two options in edit mode. One would read 'Nothing more known at this time' The other would read 'Click for further details'

If I, as administrator, wanted to add detail I would click option 2 and be taken automatically to a story page to enter the detail. Previously installed coding (by TP) would take the reader, or myself while still in Edit mode, back to the individual's family page.

When out of Edit mode only the option selected by the admin would be visible. This would obviate the need for those with lesser computer knowledge needing to understand html to move from, and back to, the individual and added information.

As long as you are in Adminisrator you will go to a BLANK PAGe.

If in FAMILY mode, it will take you back to your STORY PAGE.

In EDIT you can return by clicking on the TAB..

Although I have explained how this can be done, I do not see the point of this.

A member would still have to put a LINK in the NOTES BOX to the New STORY.

This may as well be done in the first instance and simpler to do.

Sometimes the more of, complicates matters.

The point, I suppose, that I was trying to make is that TP could easily make it possible for a bullet in the notes box to open a blank page for added details. Those who are ignorant of, or frightened by, html would find life a lot easier to link to a Further Detail/Story page and back.

No more tumbling over, I hope. I've just had a couple of days of gout so steer your ol' bones round that if you can.

Yes I suppose that you are correct. trouble is some get a PC and go straight into Family Trees with no intention of learning anything. They even do not look at te Menus.

Sorry to hear about your Gout. I have been told that it is very painful.

Me I just stumble around, with arthritis.Remember when we were 21 . Health is everything.

Sorry to hear about your gout. I had three bouts of that about 16 - 17 years ago and I feel very sorry for you. Since then I have been taking Allopurinol tablets daily (prescribed by my doctor) and have had no further problems.

The GP prescribed 6 x 5 mg Prednisolone tablets to be taken in one dose, after breakfast, for 7 days. All pain had gone in 36 hours and has not returned. As you comment - it can be extremely painful. This was my second helping in 5 years.

Hi Ted, wonderful tablets. I took 10 mg daily for a fortnight .( Now reduced to 5 mg) Had unsuccessful operation on both my shouldes for snapped tendonds.

Left me in considerable pain. My doctor said that I had Polymyalgia rheumatica , and prescribed the tablets. Within 48 hours the pain had gone, but have to keep taken them for at least two years...

Glad that your pain has gone.

Have you noticed that once you have passed 21 years old it is not the same. Mine now is 21 X 4 plus 2 nearly 3

I'm 21 x 4 + 3 - until July.

When these tablets finish tomorrow I'll be back on 1 for BP and 1 Water tablet per day.

I'm lucky. My dad was on 16 tabs. night and morning, every day.
