I have my stories in order and can group them as I wish. At least 26 in each group. Groups can be larger as long as you follow the series of adding letters as described below.
My first group starts as:
1-A..Story Name
1-B..Story Name
1-C..Story Name
You can have another 26 stories in a group. Start this group with the next number 2 and repeat the alphabet as far as needed for your next group of stories.
2-A..Story Name
2-B..Story Name
2-C..Story Name
Use numbers up to 9. I saved the zero (0-A..)for putting a header for all the stories if desired.
A two digit number does not work as a mathematical quantity because the sorting program only looks at the numbers as characters.
With this method you can have 234 stories ordered when starting with the number 1 or 260 stories ordered when starting with the number 0.
Hundreds or thousands more can theoretically be reordered
by moving up the alphabet to get another 26 in a group.
1-AA..Story Name
1-BA..Story Name
1-CA..Story Name
Then another series: (Not likely needed or have space in stories)
1-AAB..Story Name
1-BAB..Story Name
1-CAB..Story Name
Possibilities are almost endless.
It works for me and others may like it.
If you have special desires then explain your desires and I will try to help you with a set of prefixes.
At some point you may need to put a story in among other stories at a particular place. If you have left room in the prefix series you will not need to rename a long list of your stories to put your new story in.
Maybe Tribalpages will provide us all with what you would love to see.
We all know what an advantage that is.
By default unnamed photos line up by sequence of upload, then next higher order is photos with a typed name will line up in alphabetized order according to the photo name. (Next highest order)
Then after the photos are attached to people the photos will line up to the order of the names of the people they are attached to.(highest order)
I have a folder of photos I took when going back to the old homeplace of my Great grandparents. I used the previously mentioned prefix method to reorder those photos to the order they were taken (Order that I preferred).
All in that folder were named with the prefix method and some also had a comment after the prefix and they lined up as I wished.(The comment had least affect)
I hope this helps.
Many have all their photos in one folder which makes it a pain to go through. (In my opinion)
My many folders are named according to distance of kin to me. Other folders on my site are named according to subject matter.
Have a good day.
The listing on the front page are listed per the last stories that you have installed or added something to and is controlled by recent actions I have found.
