Hi, I am reading the comments here on the forum and maybe I'm not looking in the right place but I don't see the year as part of the date on each comment.

As the internet has developed I've discovered it is becoming more and more important that a full date be displayed for anything posted to any website. Full date, to me, means month, day, and year. It would even be better if the full date also included the hour, minute, and second of the posting.

When I do research on anything at all, I have found i find more credibility on items what are properly dated with a full date as to when they were initially posted. When I look at an article on a website, if it doesn't have a full date on it, I don't have any context to put it in.

On this site i have no context to put these comments on this forum in without a full date on each one.

I'd like to ask that everything posted on this site, forums, and anywhere, be posted with a full date showing with the posted item. This will lend a vast amount of more credibility to your site and the activities on it, as well as much more credibility when someone uses your site for research. It will let researchers cite things properly when citing your site.

Could you display the full date on all postings on this forum and all postings on this site?

I'd appreciate it and I think you will find it enhances your credibilty in the online world and may raise your site traffic volume as well as raise your online profile in general.

I'd enjoy hearing any and all reactions to these thoughts. Thanks.

Hi 3j3, I also prefer the name of a person, but as you can see this does not always happen.

I do believe the Year would be a great help.

Maybe if we all put it in the Subject Title.

Let me be the first, although I would have thought that you would have done this

Regards

Les

Thanks for the idea. Its funny, I didn't even think to type the year into my subject line title. I will from now on. Good idea. But I just tried to update this subject line with todays date and apparently the subject line for these comments only allow very characters and I've already used them all up. I don't want to change the subject line cause then I don't know if it would thread properly. However, below I will put todays date in the text of this comment, and will do so in future.

Hi 3j3. So simple to do. just delete the Re and change date , as I have done. My grey matter at age 87 is still working.

This is now prominent, as unless anyone is interested, in your entry, you will not achieve your aims.

I know 3j3 in binary = 00110011 01101010 00110011

and Les = 01001100 01100101 01110011

But we do not use this

But surely using a Name instead of 3j3 would give more credibility to your entries
