About The Dabalos Family in Limbuhan, Masbate
Hi, my name is Marivil de Mesa DABALUS Islam - the administrator of this tribal page. Please kindly ignore the spelling of my DABALUS; it is but a common birth certificate typographical error that was justified.

I decided to create this family tree for the reference of our present generations and those to come. This tribal page would enable them to trace their roots and link blood relations from one family to another and track the migration of related families to various places in the world.

My father is ANIANO Montecillo DABALOS Sr., the only son of VALENTIN MONTEROYO DABALOS. He was the main driver, who empowered me in creating this page as I witnessed his intense desire to meet and know all his relatives from all over Philippines when he was still alive. From the yellow page (Philippine directory book), he would search every Dabalos name and would pay to dial a phone just to ask them of their origin and later set an appointment to meet them personally. I find it strange (at my young age) but very amusing when he would narrate us who these people are.

I remembered how happy he was when I booked a travel for him and my mother to go to Cebu city to visit his first cousin and other relatives. He was already a bit frail at that time but I was very amazed to see how important is this family to him in tracing their ancestral roots. Coming back to Cavite, my father showed a different agility - imagine those luminous face with a jolly voice telling me all the good vibes they had with their short visit in Cebu and likewise the treatment they received from all his relatives. He was just so proud of them. He would even encourage me to go there and meet all those relatives, which I responded positively to him. Unfortunately, his wishes however did not happen in his time :-(

Thanks to my 1st cousin Bebot (Ma. Annabelle Dabalos Lameza) for attempting to launch the very first successful DABALOS' clan reunion in 2016 at San Remigio, Cebu. This motivated me more to pursue the challenging task of tracking down our roots and origin on behalf of my father's wish. I believed my father has a reason why he used to tell me about all of these. I hope I encourage some of you who feel the same way he felt for all of his loved ones.

Mr. VALENTIN M. DABALOS was the original DABALOS, who thrived first in the place called Limbuhan, now known as Pio V. Corpuz, a small town of Masbate comprising about 23,236 people (2015 survey). He was one of the sons of Mr. Celestiano Dabalos and Angelina Monteroyo who were natives of San Remigio, Cebu city. He got married to MODESTA LAURENTE MONTECILLO (from Sogod, Cebu) gaining four (4) children: 3 girls (aka Indays: Pingping, Naning and Citas) and 1 boy Undo Aniano). My father (Aniano Montecillo Dabalos Sr.) productively gained a brood of 8 children (6 girls, 2 boys) with my mother, Villa de Mesa, of which I am the eldest.

My grandfather Valentin used to possess some hectares of land in Brgy. Guindawahan of Pio V. Corpuz, where he had a sugar cane and coconut plantation being their main income generator. He also engaged in crop production of tobacco, maize, rice, and some root crops like ube, apali, camote and cassava. All of his 4 children got married and raised all their first grandchildren in the same town.

Due to the hardworking ability, leadership capability, compassion and friendliness of my Lolo Entin, his popularity brought him to the limelight of politics and was installed once as the Vice Mayor of our town. He passed away in 1994 at the age of 89 years old.
