This is still a very much "work in progress" project and I am working my way through information provided by others who link into the families on this tree in order to verify my own. I am most grateful for the help and information provided so far.

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLIST
Sidney (Sydney) John Robinson born Denton 1876, son of William and Rebecca struck not just Gold but Silver and Bronze too in the 1900 Paris Olympics. He was a middle- distance athlete who specialised in the steeplechase. He won Gold in the 5000 metres team race, Silver in 2500 metres steeplechase and bronze in the 4000 metres steeplechase. As well as a successful athlete, he worked as Postmaster and Carpenter in Denton.

TRANSPORTEES
The 1841 Northampton Mercury Newspaper carried the following report: "Joseph Bedford 21, William Downing 31, and James Underwood 21 (George James Underwood, charged with the wilful murder of John Dunkley at the parish of Yardley Hastings, on the 6th October last".
All three accused can be found in this tree.
John Dunkley was a local gamekeeper who chanced upon the 3 who were thought to be poaching. Somehow, a gun was fired leaving Dunkley dead and 3 arrests were made. None of the three would admit to pulling the trigger so they were all transported.

BIGAMY
I am currently sifting through some details of what looks like a case of bigamy possibly concerning Ann Elizabeth Bedford born 1847. Ann married Joseph Robinson in 1866 but he was absent on the 1871 census when she was living with her aunt Mary Smart. Ann then married again in 1873 to William Rainbow but as Ann Bedford and not Ann Robinson. So far I have found no trace of a death of Joseph Robinson between 1866 and 1873.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
