About Patrick Geoghegan Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
This website traces the extended Patrick J. & Catherine J. (Burns) Gargan family
of Ashland, MA. Key family surnames include Gargan, Geoghegan, Burns,
Williamson, Liborio, Curley, Goodfellow--most based in the
Boston-Ashland-Framingham-Hopkinton areas of Massachusets.

The tree was started more than 30 years ago by James Goodfellow, who was
tracing his Geoghegan roots. Peg Williamson & Geri Liborio Vasile have been
researching more, and this is the result so far. Check out the "mystery album"
to see if you can identify anyone for us. Email us if you can add or correct
any info and let us know if you have any good photos, especially family groups.

We have made a bit of an inroad into Irish Geoghegan roots, reportedly from the
Oughterard, Connemara, County Galway area and are trying to find the Burns'
Irish roots. Recently found much about the Williamson family from the
Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire counties of England, including another family tree
based in England that seems to have Grampy Williamson and his ancestors on it.
And we have some info about the Liborio family's roots in Italy, from towns near
Lake Maggiore.

We had a great reunion in June 2007 in Ashland with nearly all the 3rd/4th/5th
generations of Gargans and most spouses. That was 25 out of the 37 cousins!
Since it was the first time many had met each other, we're thinking it would be
fun to do it again sooner than later.

We've made contact in summer 2008 with multiple "cousins" from different sides of
the family and have added several photos of our common ancestors, as well as new
information, so check out the albums, especially the Irish Heritage one. That one is
the result of us careening around Ireland in May '09 looking for ancestors.

We've added lots more names, photos, stories in the past five years, so take a few
minutes to see what's new, especially the new additions to our extended families.

And be sure to sign the guest book and give us any updates, your email or other
contact info. Have fun!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
