Welcome to the Ayers & Billingsley Family Tree!
About  Ayers and Billingsley Families
During the time when "The Suitcase Letters" was being put together, Sandy and I soon realized that many of the names of relatives mentioned in the letters and stories that Grandma Faye wrote, would not be familiar to the younger generations of our families. We contemplated adding a "code" so relatives reading "The Suitcase Letters" would be able to understand who was being referenced in those letters and stories.

One thing led to another and I started this Family Tree for the Ayers/Karstens and Billingsley/McCleary families which represents the families of Russell Vernon Ayers and Faye Billingsley Ayers Taenzer.

Photos are included on the site, and if you wish to not have any photos or have additional photos put on the website, please email me at jo_sawitz@yahoo.com with the attached information or photos, and I will make sure those photos and information are added or removed as per your request. It should be noted that when visitors to the site view the Family Tree, only those who have permission to view the complete site will be able to view ALL the photos and information of our ancestors and descendants. Visitors checking out the website will only be able to view limited information of deceased relatives.

If, while perusing the site, you find incorrect information or information that should be added to your particular family, please let me know and I will make those changes and/or corrections.

It should be noted that the Ayers and Billingsley families both have roots that trace back to William the Conqueror. A * next to the name of a family member indicates that person (both male and female) is our direct descendant to our geneaological lines which include Ayers, Karstens, Billingsley and McCleary.

Some of the stories included are those written by Grandma Faye. I have also included information regarding both sides of the family. It is fascinating to understand where we came from and how we got here.

Enjoy!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
