My West Country lineage is rooted in west and south Dorset through my father and south Wiltshire, south-west Hampshire and north Dorset through my mother. My branches go off ever northwards; my first husband's family all hailed from Staffordshire and one ancestor came from Wales. Half of my granddaughter's lineage is based in Derbyshire and further afield in Durham. Further north again my husband's family hail from the north-east of England on one side and Lanarkshire in Scotland on the other.
I have been constructing this multi-branched tree since April 2005 and have so far made contact with many distant cousins; some via Tribal Pages and others through Genes Reunited. Many thanks to Ruth, Julie, Lorraine, Val, Derek, Eric, Christopher, Peter, Katharine and Doug; new cousins, friends, in-laws and outlaws, full of family information.
All of the "useful links" I have found to be extremely helpful; especially Dorset Online Parish Clerks.

to all who care; it is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist; you
died and I was born, yet each of us are cells of you - in flesh and blood and
bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own. Dear
Ancestor the place you filled one hundred years ago spreads out among the ones
you left who would have loved you so. I wonder as you lived and loved, I
wonder if you knew, that someday I would find the spot and come to visit
