|About Bert and Donna's Family Forest
Welcome to Bert and Donna's Family Forest! Hope you enjoy your visit! I am working on the
family trees of both myself and my husband and wanted a nice family website to share everything
I find and to which other family members could contribute. Names on my side include
Kincaid, Evans, Marion, Gwinn, Pauley, Taylor, McGary, Parrish, Williams, and Hogston. These
families were concentrated in central and southwest Virginia and in West Virginia. Names on my
husband's side include Baker, Miller, Fortney, Kimble, Eddy, Lamp, Rickey, Underwood, Bell, and
Kelley located in West Virginia and Ohio.
I not only want to go as far back as I can in the family lineages, but I also want to go
out into the distant branches. I find it fascinating just how many people to whom we are
connected, so many we do not know. If you think you are one of those connected people, request
a membership and tell me who you are! I would love to add your 'branch' to the tree.
All of the names, dates and information are entered manually so mistakes are possible! Let
me know if you see something that doesn't seem right. This website is a work in progress, but
my ultimate goal is to have everything as complete and correct as possible so I would love your
input! Pictures and stories bring these people to life so if you have some to share please do!
Other than some copies of certificates, records, and newspaper clippings, I am not including
most of my sourcing at this time, but if you need to know from where my information came, I
will be happy to provide that. I have a working private tree on Ancestry.com and have
everything sourced there. Photos used on this website are either personal family photos, those
shared by others, or ones that I have found online. I will gladly give credit if I know to whom
credit belongs. Often many of the old photos have been shared so many times it's difficult to
know their original source. I am so very grateful for those who are willing to share their own
A special thank you to my parents and grandparents for all the wonderful stories and memories
and for keeping pretty much everything! So many treasures!
Thank you also to my mother-in-law Roseanna Baker Underwood for all of the photos and
information she has shared over the years.
Be sure to sign the guest book before you leave and if you know of other family members who
would enjoy this site or who would have contributions to make please send them here for a
