About My Great Family

I began this project when I ask dad how he was kin to Edna Bea Haggard as he always called her "Cudden Edna." He said all he knew was that his grandfather, Joshua Whitehead was married three times and they were kin somehow through these marriages. We then went to see Cudden Edna. She had a document from Bill Thompson showing the basic family relationship.
Then it got interesting in 1975 as we were traveling to or from Louisville. Dad pointed to the south of hwy 14 and said "There is a Whitehead and I believe we are kin to him." Along about 2011 I got an e-mail from a lady in North Alabama asking if I knew where William Whitehead was buried. Early in 2013 I found a note I had made and forgotten of a grave marker in the White Cemetery on the line of Noxubee and Winston County. The marker inscription was C R Whitehead, Nurse CSA wioth dates. I ran him and low and behold, there was his father as William Whitehead who turned out to be brother to Archibald who is Joshua Whitehead father. Dad was right on target. As it is, this added about 500 relatives to my data.

Today I find that our family may come from Lancaster England and if so,likely of Arthur Whitehead. I am relatively sure of the Whitehead Family to Jacob and fair to middling beyond that point.

My basic family runs to Whitehead, Stokes, Womble, Kent and Ford as well as a few others.

From this point I have been picking up bits here and there pulling this family together.
