About Cape Cod Packards
When I was little, kids in school would talk about their grandparents coming to America from Italy, Ireland, Scotland, or Germany. I'd ask my dad where our family came from, and he'd always say, "Oh, we're British subject." That information gave me zero satisfaction.

When I finally discovered the Internet, I found a thrilling ability to actually LOOK UP my family, and trace it. That's where this site came from ... an insatiable curiosity to know where we actually came from.

The first English to America were adventurous comers, and Samuel Packard and his family arrived in 1638 and helped settle and establish Hingham, Massachusetts, moving on to help establish Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Though there are Packards all over the country, this is the beginning ... THIS is where we've come from.

(NOTE: Entries with an *asterisk following the surname indicate a direct descent from a Mayflower passenger.)
