Q.  Where did our Ancestors come from?
 A.  All within a radius of one another in what is now Poland and Belarussia, mostly from Biala  Podlaska in the Gubernia(Russian governed area or province) of Siedlce and the Province of Lublin. To research ancestors on your own, please visit the website

Q.  Where are our Blankleder descendents now?
 A.  Mostly in the United States, United Kingdom,Argentina and Uraguay, Australia, Canada,and  Israel.

Q.  What is special about the Blankleder Family?
 A.  Many of our ancestors were musicians, including klezmer musicians. Music continues to excel  through this Family in addition to other artistic talents, and mathematics in its various forms.

Q.  Who is the Webmaster of The Blankleder Family Website on Tribal Pages? A.  Blankleder descendent, Michele Blanc Berman , New York, USA, enters data to the Website. 

Q.  Who researches the Family Tree?
 A.  In the 1970 it was Michele’s mother Charlotte Blanc of New York,USA together with Blankleder  cousins Henrietta Laurence of London,UK and Jose Blankleder of Honolulu,USA( formerly from  Uraguay) who recreated the family tree through family contacts. Today the website is researched and  maintained by Michele Blanc Berman of New York,USA and Loretta (nee Blank) Ankier of London, UK  .Internet sites have been of great help, especially jewishgen.com. We are extremely grateful for all the help we have received from relatives and "friends" like Piotr  Nazaruk, a young man from Biala Podlaska who researched our family and gathered and translated many  documents on the site.

Q.  How can other Family members help?
 A.  By collecting family stories and photographs from their family branches and forwarding or  emailing them to Michele so that they can be recorded for future generations of the Family.  Your  help and co-operation will be greatly appreciated by all the Family and their descendents.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
