About Hansen-Hinkelman-Spires-Hurson Families
Please sign in to see more.
Hi! This site is a collection of family members that I have been gathering for many years. My name is Bob (Robert Michael) Hansen, and currently live with my wife Nancy in Salem NH, where we have raised our family over the past 49+ years. Copies of original source records for most data is available with Bob Hansen, not yet electronically connected to individual records.

HANSEN ANNUAL GATHERING AT SIXTH STREET BEACH, GREENPORT, LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK IS PLANNED FOR WED AUGUST, 2024.

Look in Useful Links at lower left to connect to Rhoda Dickerson's FaceBook COUSINS PAGE.

3/11/2021:I just finished adding another 300+ names, and 100+ marriages. Most of these were for the FREDETTE, FEDRINI, and DOLDO families.

1/25/2021:I just finished adding another 350+ names, and 100+ marriages. Much of this is a result of my DNA tests being followed up.

10/16/2020:I just finished adding another 200+ names supporting Madison Hansen's mother's line. Madison has taken a personal interest, and I expect we will be seeing more info in the future. Thanks, Madison.

10/1/2020: The 2020 gathering did not happen due to Covid. Hopefully we will be able have another gathering next summer. Will be good to have everyone together again as a family. Working with Madison Hansen this past week, we have added about forty new family members on her mother, Ann Sidor's KROM family branch, more to come. Thanks, Madison. We also confirmed our relationship with a DNA match between Madison and my daughter Brenna. This is the first DNA match I know of in our tree.

8/11/2019: The 2019 gathering is over! Time to plan for 2020 now. Weekend turnout was surprisingly smaller this year. May go back to Wednesdays? Stay tuned as I gather some photos.

3/1/2020: I just added about fifty new names in the HANSEN tree in Denmark. Now going back to 1695, a leap of about two hundred years. Still need to validate much of the sources, but is a good continuation point.

8/7/2019: The DICKERSON branch of the family now goes back about 16 generations. I added about another 60 names and relations in the past month. I had to finish my work on that before our annual gathering this weekend. Thanks to my cousin Rhoda for allowing me to go through the family history that she had. This makes the Dickerson name #2 in this collection, pushing my Hansen name into 3rd place. Hope my cousins will help this weekend to do more on my personal side!

7/5/2019: I just finished updating five generations of the DICKERSON family. Added and linked about 150 new names. Special thanks to my cousin Rhoda, who allowed me to borrow her family history book: Baker, Wesley L. Descendants of PHILOMEN DICKERSON and Long Island descendants of CAPT. JOHN DICKINSON. 1st printing 1978, 300 books. Reprint, Chicago, Illinois: Adams Press, 2nd printing 1979. The names I added today are from one chapter, #27, about 5 of 700 pages. A third printing is available in a number of genealogy libraries.

3/23/2019: I just finished updating the death of my aunt Maren, who passed away today. This has been a tough six months for my cousins Chris and Sharon, losing both family members. Aunt Maren was named after her grandmother, hopefully her name will be carried forward by future children.

9/17/2018: I just finished updating the death of my uncle, Daniel Hansen, who passed away today. He will be mostly missed by my cousins Sharon and Chris and their families. I also did some uploading of ancestor information for Chris' husband, Paul Dinizio family.

8/12/2018: Just returned from the 2018 gathering. Hope to add some notes in the near future. I uploaded some photos from Rhoda into the Reunion 2018 album. I will continue to add more photos, please send me your JPG pictures, with names of people if possible. Thanks. (Could also use some photos from the 2017 gathering.)

The following paragraph is from the 2016 gathering.
On August 10 2016 I attended the COUSINS GATHERING at Orient State Park for the first time. This was the second gathering. There were almost fifty people there and it was a great time. They have set up a plan to do this on the second Wednesday of every August. I plan to be there and invite all our cousins to join us. I will be making many updates to the Hansen and Hinkelman tree branches from this event, thanks again for all the help.

7/22/2017: I did a major update of many records. This included new parents for my great, great grandfather, Christian Hansen, the father of Hans Jørgen Hansen. I have finally found a real Danish record with the family on 1890 and 1880 census records.

I also have included about 20 more ancestors of my wife Nancy's Spaulding line. Surprised to find direct lineage to Edward Spaulding, one of the first settelers in Jamestown, and an early founder in New England. Looks like the local Spaulding Turnpike was probably named after him. He was made the first official surveyor for this section of New England. (More research to follow).

In 2013 I made some changes that included the addition of over 20 relatives on the branch of my nephew Michael Waters' son Mason. Surprised to find that Mason is related to the infamous Lizzie Borden and also to the famous Marilyn Monroe. So, I have included those basic marriages to connect the relationships. So, that's almost 250 new names added in July 2013!

I also wanted to mention that in October 2012, I did add a lot of unvalidated information on my father's ancestry(Alfred Max Hansen). Until then, I only had his father's name, and nothing older than that. Then I had a breakthrough in October and have added about four more generations of family members on the Hans Alfred Hansen ancestry. It seems that our family came from Rudkobing, Langeland, Denmark. That is where the Hansen name for our family first originated.

Just wanted to say thanks to all my relatives and friends and others who have helped to provide
information for me. You are cautioned to know that much data is verbal at this time, and may not
have been validated by official documentation. Contact me for any source questions.

I started this with information about my parents, and then their parents and my siblings. Next I started with my wife's parents and siblings. Then I started including in-laws and their parents and siblings. And then I just kept going and going and going and .....

To send an email to a relative, go to the Family View for that person. If an email address exists here, it will be linked in the Notes section, to the right of the name. Click on "Email Link" and the correct email address will come up in most email client programs. I have entered email addresses in a method that looks and works normally for email, but will not be picked up by web page scrapers for spam/mailing lists.

Please contact me with any information that you think should be added/modified/deleted.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
