About Rachel Hewson Loosemore Family Tree
There are 40+ generations included in this family tree. There are individuals in all lines that are still being researched.

I have two special interests:

1) My convict ancestors... Elizabeth Cole (First Fleet 1788), Richard Cornelius Burrows (Second Fleet 1790), Sylvester Lush ("Calcutta" 1803, the first convict transport to Hobart in Van Diemen's Land) and John (aka James) Fisk ("Arab" 1822).

and

2) The ancestors of my 3 x great-grandmothers Tryphena Mostyn Owen (paternal) and Emma Fox (maternal)... documented lines going back to noble and royal families in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Some of the earliest ancestors recorded on these lines are considered "traditional" and are included for interest.

Great-great-great-grannie Tryphena Mostyn Owen belongs to an incredible line of ancestors on both her mother's and father's sides. Politicians, poets, knights, barons, earls, royalty, ladies-in-waiting, duchesses, seafarers, soldiers.... you name it, she's got it! Some were famous, some infamous, but all have been very exciting to discover and a great pleasure to research.

I'm grateful to family members, newly discovered distant cousins, and fellow family historians I've met along the way, for providing information, sources and photos, and for giving me a lot of excellent advice and leads.

Genealogy is such a fascinating hobby. We only exist because of the life events and choices made by our ancestors. I believe the old adage that you don't know who you are until you understand where you've come from.

I hope you enjoy looking around my site. If you'd like to say hi or think that we may be related in some way, please sign my Guestbook...AND INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IF YOU'D LIKE A REPLY!

Note that I often add new photos to the family albums on this site.

Cheers, Rachel
