I would like to introduce you to one of my Maternal ancestors Family Names - BANYARD. Originally BEINHARD from GERMANY, BEIGNHARD from FRANCE, came into SUFFOLK, ENGLAND around 1066, settled in SUFFOLK and NORFOLK. BANYARD emerged as a notable Family in Norfolk on Lands given by DUKE WILLIAM. The surname descends from Lands owned by the family at the time of the DOOMSDAY Book Census of 1086. SIR ROBERT BAYNARD knighted in 1619. Migrants in IRELAND, USA and CANADA during the 17th Century.
I would like to thank my second cousin Pauline who is a Banyard and who does all the researching in Norfolk and elsewhere of Parish and census records and who shares all her information with me.
A very special thanks to Peter Gregory our Cousin of the Buffham Line who has very kindly sent me his complete Family Tree and Kinship Reports(which show where I and Candy fit into the Tree)and also shows lots more Living rellies.
I would also like to give credit to my second cousin Candy in Canada, a Commercial Fisherwoman. I have received lots of details on the Buffham/Miller family line from UK to Canada and USA.
I would like to give special thanks to Alistair Corbett and his mother Molly, my Paternal relatives, who without their intense research and very hard work and kindness in sharing their information with me, I would never have broken through my Brick Wall in finding my Great Grandad John Hannell and all the Mooney rellies and their families right up to my 4 times Gt.Grandad John Hannell.
I must also say a very special thankyou to Stephen John Hennell another rellie who is visiting the UK from Australia with his family and who has very kindly sent me his complete Family Tree to merge with the rest of the Hennell Clan and therefore expanding our knowledge of our extended family and its History.
I would also like to thank very much Barbara Dawson nee Hyland, another relative on my Paternal side who has kindly given permission to merge her Family Tree into The Family Website.
As my Paternal side of the Family is directly related to THE TOLPUDDLE MARTYRS I thought I would like to add a poem written in pencil by GEORGE LOVELESS whilst he was in Court:
`God is our guide! from field, from wave, From plough, from anvil, and from loom; We come, our country`s rights to save, And speak a tyrant faction`s doom:
We raise the watch-word liberty;
We will, we will, we will be free!
God is our guide! no swords we draw, We kindle not war`s battle fires;
By reason, union, justice, law,
We claim the birth-right of our sires: We raise the watch-word, liberty,
We will, we will, we will be free!!!`
This poem is taken from THE VICTIMS OF WHIGGERY being a statement of the Persecutions experienced by the DORCHESTER LABOURERS and reflections by GEORGE LOVELESS.
