About Bristol Cuthbertson Miller Gerow
Bristol Branch of my Family

James Cuthbertson, his wife Euphemia Turner and family emigrated from Lanark Scotland. They arrived late 1820’s to what is now called Bristol, Quebec. Son William, his wife Charlotte Prosser and three of their children were also aboard that ship. Two of their daughters born in Canada became my great great grandmothers. Euphemia Cuthbertson married Benjamin Gerow. Elizabeth Cuthbertson married John Miller.

Benjamin Gerow family had settled in Sophiasburgh, Upper Canada. Gerow family had long history from France, New York, Loyalists to NB, then Ontario.

At this time, unknown how Euphemia and Benjamin met. He may have worked on the Rideau Canal or with Military. They were both residing Belleville, Ontario when married.

Benjamin's mother was Martha Wiggins and her maternal family can be traced to Plymouth Rock.

John Miller arrived in Canada with his parents Charles and Margaret and siblings from Limerick, Ireland circa 1855. Settled Pakenham area of Lanark, Ontario.

So, the dance of the Cuthbertson, Miller and Gerow’s began.
