About The Cann/Horton Family Bermuda
Please sign in to see more. It is my distinct pleasure to present to you our VERY LARGE family tree.
In light of Uncle Albert (aka 'Ace') Cann's recent untimely passing and Grandma Cann's (Christabelle Cann) 99th birthday, I decided it was time to finally update the Cann/Horton family tree. This project began some 15 years ago (for the Cann's side) by our cousins Stuart Cann and Connie Willams who produced a hard copy of a tree that I have had since I was in high school. They did an AMAZING job as this tree goes way back to the 1800s!
Things have moved on since they under took this mammoth task and it was time to move the tree into the 21st Century and put it on line.
Working on this project has truly been an honour and has already enriched my life. Getting to know one's history has to be one of the most fulfilling things in the world! There are people on this tree that I have known and interacted with for years but I had no clue that were my cousins!
Please note that because the family is so large, this is a work in progress. As such is the case, please feel free to email me with any pictures, events, corrections, names and anything else that I have missed so that I can ensure that this is as full a tree as possible. Any more historical pictures that you can scan and upload would be really cool as well as new ones or any special events. I can also give you the Administrator password so you can upload your pictures, family details and contact information yourself. Just give me a shout.
THE CANNS
The beginning of our Cann line is ROBERT JAMES CANN (son of our first Ancestor on the tree Thomas Parks Cann). You will see that we are working from the 7 children of Robert James Cann and Frances Harriott Burrows from the 1800s. Everyone on this tree (on the Cann side) is a descendent of one of their 7 children. You will therefore see that the photo albums and colour coded family lines are set up on that basis. You can find yourself by using the drop down menu. Also you can print all kinds of reports on your branch, the whole tree etc. so just play around with the site to become familiar with its many features.
THE HORTONS
Still awaiting more info. Please contribute.
Hopefully this tree will be a catalyst for a reunion at some point in the not so distant future as well. I don't know where they would hold us all but we can dream :-)!
Finally please feel free to sign the guestbook as well so we can know who is in touch.
Oh and don't forget, in order to access all the information please use the visitor login. Please email me for the password.
Lots of love family!
