About  The Shull, Doty, Gwynn, Carter Family
Please sign in to see more.
This tree was started with my mother Dorothy Edith Gwynn, Carter. A member of my mother's family gave this Genealogy report on the Gwynn family which I primarly used to enter information about the Gwynn tree.
I also found some records in the world Vital Records.com. The Summitt and Carter are from "Personal knowledge" with the help of Linda Carter Hladeck. My mother, Dorothy Gwynn Carter also gave me some photos of her side of the family and some on the Carter side. These are the ones you will find here. I also have information about Lena Hoffman Carter and her side of the family (Hoffman side). I hope you all will enjoy this site. If anyone finds any mistakes or you can add information please contact me the administrator of this site.
We had a 90th Birthday party for Dorothy and Family Reunion in Anderson, Indiana on July 4th of 2009.It was great.
Thank you for visiting; and please don't forget to sign our guest book.

The manuscript I received from Dorothy Gwynn Carter who received it from Paul Gwynn Jr who did a Genealogy on the Gwynn Family. (Susannah Shull is the Carter kids's great, great grandma)

Johannes Scholl, born about 1685, came from Germany on the ship "Adventurer", whose Captain's name was Robert Carson. They landed in Philadelphia Harbor and signed this name to point of Entry on Sept. 23, 1732 at the age of 48 years and brought the Shull name into this country.
His son Jacob Shull, born 1734 and died 1785, who married Rebecca Shull, no date or info, was the first to spell the name Shull.
William Shull, Sr. was the son of Jacob. William was born (Approx.) 1773 and died (Approx.) 1829.
Mycajah Cake Shull, born July 1812 was (7) the son of William Shull, Sr.. The above information furnished from a Genealogy book on Shull, Schull & Scholl, written by a Shull in New Jersey.
According to an Obituary of Susannah Shull (Merrill) (Doty) she was born in Ohio and with her parents came to Indiana, Hancock County in 1836--so Mycajah Cake Shull came to Indiana, Hancock County in 1836. That would place the birth of the other children in Hancock County, Indiana. Obituary in possession of Louie W. Shull. Mary Elizabeth Caudell, born Jan. 1816, was one of the fourteen children of John Caudell, born 1772 died 1836 and Susan Caudell, born 1782, died 1857, who came to this country from Ireland--came to Kentucky, then to Indiana,, Hancock County at the time of it's early settlement. Also, Mary Elizabeth Caudell's brother, David Caudell came to Indiana in 1834, according to Lucian N. Shull, from Clairmount County, Ohio. Above information came from Caudell Reunion Record Book and was supposed to have been run down by John F. Wiggins, Atty. at law at that time.
