About Casey Family Train Tree
Welcome: The Casey Family Tree

Since 2017, genealogy has become my new hobby. I have really enjoyed researching my wife's family history and I knew I would one day want to discover more about the paternal and maternal sides of my family. Well that day has come. In December 2016, a friend asked me to participate in an Indiana University Genealogical Family Health study geared towards African-Americans. The study was to see how individuals communicate within their families regarding health concerns and other familial issues. I didn’t have any knowledge of health concerns on my paternal side of my family. I made a few phone calls and found out that my Great Uncle Lawrence lived less than 10 miles away. I relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana about 17 years ago from Detroit, Michigan.

After reconnecting with other family members in January 2017. I started to and built an Ancestry.com Family Tree and created a Closed Facebook Group Page called the Casey Family Train. My thought was the more people I can get involved in my search, the better off it would be. They may have pictures of relatives that you do not have. They may have stories to share or information to give. These are things that cannot be replaced. A picture, once lost, is gone forever. In some cases, it can be all that anyone has to remember another person by. We need to collect information, document it, verify it and digitized it. To share this documentation with future generations.

The Ancestry and Facebook collaboration in part was my attempt gather and collect the fruits from our many family trees at an effective low cost from duplicating for other searches by giving credit and citation for those who shared their findings and documents. This was my attempt to try to keep the cost down from the collecting of vital records information of Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Death Certificates, census records, military records property, probate, photo’s, Bible forwards and funeral programs.

Here is my story:

I thought it would be a great Idea to research and document my paternal side of my family tree the Casey’s. After obtaining Ancestry DNA test results on me and my Great Uncle I thought that would try to connect and reconnect the first and second generation of Martha Casey my 4th Great Grandmother after talking with my Great Aunt Irma Pennington, Great Uncle and other Casey Family Historians. I presented my finding in my Genealogy Project called the Golden Spike at my first Casey Family Reunion in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. But what I am finding here on Ancestry is the many connections with my maternal side of my family tree. So, I’m guessing that I better take advantage of this Ancestry journey opportunity as well.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. My mother’s grandparents were Simpson Gray and Hattie Maxwell (both of Warren County, Mississippi) and Samuel W Leslie (Chipley Georgia) and Leila Thornhill (Henning, Tennessee). My mother was named in honor of both of her grandmothers. My mother name is Lela Hattie Gray. Back in 1988 the GWC Family Reunion was in Detroit, Michigan. We all received a copy of our Family Tree Genealogy Booklet that had prepared by Mr. Louis (Skip) Gates and friend of my Uncle Samuel Simpson Gray. Last August at the annual GWC Family Reunion. I accepted the responsibility to host next year 2018 Family Reunion. The GWC is Gray-Williams-Casey branch of vast forest of our Family Tree.

2020 -Tribal Pages:

This is an invitation for you to join us here on TribalPages Casey Family Tree Page. It is nice for me as one of the family historian/genealogists to have other family members just go to the website to view and edit the many Family Trees. With one password for access and another for editing, I can freely allow others to view our family trees without worrying someone might feel the need to change our family history to fit their preferences. I had been looking for a webpage to help me and the many branches of my family trees to compare and share information TribalPages is a composition of my 4 Grandparents family lineage. My favorite feature of the website is the capability to access it in any location via the internet while still having it remain private and password protected. Another feature of the website is a calendar with all the living family members’ birthdays and anniversaries.

Tribal Page will give us an opportunity to share and uplift one another from near and far. Tribal Pages will give us direct link and connection to nurture and grow our family trees. This will give us a very unique way of communicating with one another for upcoming events, gatherings such as Family Reunions and Home-goings. I'm willing to help do my part and wishing that we all do. So, it’s time to step up our research here with Tribal Pages as it appears to be a cut above the rest. Tribal Pages offers family tree building tools, photo sharing features and search options to help you find (or find out about) family members. You can opt to receive updates on information and the site provides a real time smart match, making it quicker and easier to search for family members.

2023 - As we expand our Family Railway network, we add Gedmatch and MyHeritage genetic kits to help assist us in us trying to Reclaim Our Family Tree Puzzles. Over the past 5-years many questions of the past have haunted our present and would not relent. Where did I/we come from? Who do I/we look like? Any known Family traits and medical history knowledge. If you have any question or comments please contact me the Charles Louis Buddy Casey the Administrator of this site. This is a Family based Genealogy webpage was goes live on Oct 1, 2017.

The 2023 5yr CFT Family Reunion Gathering was tremendous time. Greet and Meet, Fireside Chats, Genealogy Classes, Liter House Family Dinner, After Party at Ob's, Sunday Morning Praise and Worship followed by Sunday afternoon Picnic in the Park.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
