About A TEXAS CONNECTION
I dedicate this site to TEXAS and all of our ancestors who came here looking for a new start. After the civil war our families like so many others migrated here probably to start a new life and get away from all of the destruction of fours years of war. Of families losing loved ones and losing there property in many cases. Our families came from Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and who else only know s. I only hope they found what they were looking for in our great state of TEXAS for without them we would have never made our TEXAS CONNECTION. The purpose of this site is so that our family history can be shared and passed on. Our ancestors have marked our path and led the way for us. They have started our foundation, we must never forget our ancestors for they have paved a path for us so that we can enjoy the future.
I want to add a very special thanks to a dear cousin Mrs. Dorothy Bond, to whom I have just recently found. Without her I would not have been able to fill in a lot of the blanks. I thank God for bringing us together.
It has come to my attention that the CASSELL and CASTLE family listed in this website are of one family. The CASTLE family started with Elijah CASTLE from North Carolina. He traveled to South Carolina and met Elizabeth Foster and were married and had children in South Carolina. They then moved to Georgia between 1850 and 1860. Two of the brothers, Charles which is my GGrandfather and his brother Allen married sisters in Alabama. Charles married Malinda Flippo and Allen married Dolly Flippo. This is where the name CASSELL came into existence. Charles and Malinda's oldest daughter Alice Bell Cassell who kept the family bible records changed the spelling of their last name from CASTLE to CASSELL. And our side of the family has been spelled CASSELL ever since.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
