About Chisholms Nicholsons and Arkisons
My father, Evan Singer Chisholm was born in Carluke on 14th January 1930. He was the eldest son of George Cunningham Chisholm and Euphemia Singer Nicholson.
In Carluke at that time there were many family members, many Chisholms,Nicholsons, Sinclairs, Singers, Cunninghams and others whose relationships I am currently researching in detail to put leaves on the branches of the tree that is my father's family. I am beginning to see their life stories evolve as I uncover data. These stories are as much a part of our family story as the documents that bear each family name. I will write the stories with as much insight as possible and leave them here on this website for other family members to add to or simply enjoy. Many of my father's ancestors had hard lives, but they were interesting lives, real lives. Linked together by names, they are and were part of a county of Scotland that was very much home to each and every one of them. Home is where the heart resides, and for my father it was always Carluke.

The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
