About Climbing Our Family Tree
Dear Cousins (and cousins of cousins)

I have set up this TribalPages Tree so that we have a place to make it easier to share our families and to validate data that I have collected. We will wander around up and down branches and twigs and all over the place! (And with the odd leap into unrelated trees too!) It is always a work in progress. I WARMLY WELCOME CORRECTIONS AND UPDATES.

I wish to express HUGE THANKS to the many, many people over the years who have come into my life and generously shared our families in common: 'tis much appreciated.

Had your DNA done? We have ...

Where has the time gone! I'm not adding new people here, but using WikiTree.
John, who just asked for access, I have not got your person of interest in my tree, so I denied access. Sorry.

24 May 2018 - Due to the new privacy laws for EU, I've now privatised all living persons in this tree - including signed in Guests. Since I'm going back to working on the tree offline, I've changed those few with Member status back to Guest, as any changes you made would be lost on the next GEDCOM update if I neglected to add the change to my PC. (And still working on that second fantasy novel!)

Gosh, I've been all over the place, working out our DNA matches. I did not get a match with my husband, though we are 6th cousins on paper via our mutual HUNT/McGUINESS ancestors. On GEDmatch, I lowered the segment size to one (the default is 7) and then we had two small matches on chromosome 6 - one was only 1,2cM, the other 2.3 cM. What a relief. I'm giving myself until next week, and then I must get back into writing. [... edited ...] I will not abandon family history this time. I'm adding our direct ancestors to WikiTree.

At last, I really am planning to spend a little time each week on family history. I have years and years of papers, plus emails spread over various computers to 'process'. I have a lot of my own blood lines to add, too. I will work backwards through the stack of emails I have. I believe that will involve the MACKAY line ( my husband's people).

I still need to tidy up the format on old notes and move more marriage source notes to the bride.

Warm regards,
 Christine

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
