Welcome to the Lucas-Smith family website. You will find birth, death and  marriage details for over 5000 of my children's ancestors.

I have managed to trace all branches of my tree back to when they first  arrived in Australia - most arrived within the first 50 years of European  settlement. It has taken me over 20 years with a lot of help from family  members (sometimes very distant) and others that were interested in the same  surnames. There were two First Fleeters (1788 from England to Port Jackson);  William Nash (Marine Private) and Maria Haynes (William's girlfriend), one  bushranger Johnny Dunn (who was in Ben Hall's gang but hanged age 19), and  four convicts; Henry Cook, Jane Manley, Mary Stephens and Benjamin Gore.

The focus of my research in  2009 is on Smith (from Lancashire), Berrington (from Cheshire), Booth (from  Cheshire), Clarke (from Ireland) and Annison (from Norfolk, England). I use the  Family Tree Maker program to record my family tree and then upload it to this site  periodically.
