About Marissa Cornford's Family
Welcome to our family tree - named for the youngest member of our own branch.

We, my husband Bill and I, started researching the family's history many years ago then put the project aside. However, as more and more records became available on the internet, and the likelihood of success more promising, took it up again. We started with Bill's family - the Cornford/Baskervilles - then moved on to mine - the Stevenson/Woods.

We then concentrated on the maternal side of our grandchildren's tree. We were very successful in finding their maternal great-grandmother's ancestors.

Our most interesting find has been a photograph of Bill's g-grandfather; gg-grandfather; ggg- grandfather and gggg-grandfather. The photograph appeared in an Alloa newspaper around 1860 and the editor commented on the rarity of a photograph of four generations of the same family; all four were named Alexander McEwan. The photograph came to light during e-conversations with a new found relative of the McEwan family residing in Australia.

We have had considerable help from some of those in our wider family network and their input is very much appreciated. If you have information which would prove useful please do contact me via the link above.

Regards to all
