Please sign in to see more. The first reason for this site is to help each member of our family realize that they are important to the rest of us. They are a link in the story of our heritage, our immediate family, and our descendants.
The second reason is to honor those who have gone before us. Past generations were not afforded the ability to organize family information in such a way that it could be followed by family members all over the world. The size of any one family and it's history is huge, but it is a part of our personal story, and I believe it is both important that each of us cares about who has gone before us and shares what we know for future generations. Finding this information was a challenge I was driven to do by my own difficulty in learning about my predecessors and the reluctance I found from some to share that information, through fear of revealing "things you may not want to hear". My intent is to learn about my family, their lives, including their shortcomings, without judgement. None of us is perfect, and each of us is human. My mother's admontion, "Live and Let Live", has stayed with me from childhood. I think we can do nothing better than to learn about those who lived before us, to realize the years they spent living life the best they could, and honoring their lives. To the past, present and future, I dedicate this information. Janis Courtin Schobert
