   Hi welcome to my web site. My name is Valerie Braithwaite (nee MANSFIELD), I became  interested in researching the family history in the 1980's when my husband Bob  Braithwaite and I were travelling, where we had the opportunity to call in to  families around Australia.
   Back then when computers were not so popular, and I did not own one, did I know how to use one? I had to do a lot of letter writing, going to libraries, checking with councils etc, In that time, I have gathered a lot of information and met relations I had never  known or met before.
   NEW ADDITIONS: I am still updating from my data that I have in written files. I  will also be adding information as I research it. I do try and verify all my  information but, that can be difficult sometimes, due to the expense and time etc. Most of my records in the database are my blood relations, while some are related by  marriage or we have cousins in Common.
    Please keep checking for updates.
  I am also researching the ERB Family. If anyone has or thinks they may have a  connection, please contact me.
  NO LIVING PEOPLE: Although my personal data contains the living and the deceased, in  interest of privacy, the records on this site are restricted to those of deceased  people only.
   If there is a living relation who you may think is of interest, please contact me  for further information.
 SURNAMES: Many surnames have spelling variations.
 Tracking back through historical records will often provide evidence of names  evolution.
 Names were frequently changed with the arrival in Australia to make them easier to  spell or pronounse. Many German names were angelized.
 Typically the names adopted in this database is that recorded in the birth or  christening records. However, exceptions to this rule have been made when it is clear  that errors have been made, in a few cases, simply so as to keep families together in  the index. In this case the name from the birth/christening will sometimes be shown  in the birth/christening information.

SOURCES: Please quote the original sources of data where indicated if publishing it  in anyway. You should also check these or other sources to ensure I have not made any  typing mistakes when transcribing any data. (I am still in the processes of putting in more sources).

I can offer no guarantees as to the accuracy of the information on this site. People using the site, to help them in their researches should not consider the site  as SOURCE, but a guide only. Users should seek out the appropriate documents that  confirm the information for inclusion in their own records.
