About The D'Aluisio Family
Giuseppe D'Aluisio and his wife Agata (nee Prioletta) emigrated in 1904 from Frosolone, Italy which, at that time, was part of the province of Campobasso in the region of Molise. They sailed from Naples on the SS Nord America on September 15th and arrived at Ellis Island on September 29th.

Upon arrival they settled in Jersey City, NJ. The immigration documents indicate that they were joining Giuseppe's brother Genuino, who had preceded them to America, at 786 Newark Avenue in what was know as the Village section. By the time that their first child, Giovanni, arrived the following January they had moved to 30 Liberty Street. Their sister Clotilde (Antoinette) came to America in 1912 with her two younger children, Valerio (Victor) and Carolina (Carolyn) Patrizio. Her husband Faustino (Gus) and two older sons, Genuino and Richard had previously emigrated in 1908.

Agata's mother, Maria Carmina DiNunzio followed them to America a little more than two years later in November 1906. Her immigration documents indicate that by that time, Giuseppe and Agata had moved to 30 Garrison Avenue in the Marion section. As the family continued to grow, they later moved to several addresses on Wright Avenue, then to Giles Street and Parnell Place before they eventually purchased a home at 239 Cator Avenue in the Greenville section which remained in the family for over 80 years until it's sale on November 5, 2009.

Giuseppe and Agata raised 11 children and now more than one hundred ten years after their arrival, the sixth generation of D'Aluisio descendants has begun. The purpose of this website is to document the history of the family and ensure that family members will be able to not only trace their ancestors but also their contemporaries in current and future generations.

While the site name is "The D'Aluisio Family", all are encouraged to fill out as much of the "other" side of their respective branches of the family tree as possible. This will allow the later generations to utilize the ancestor reports to fully trace their ancestry as well.
