Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.

PHOTOS:

If you have any to share. Genealogy means more if you can put a face with the name and dates. I had an email for pictures... but someone kept sending me spam. So I will not publicize that email. INFORMATION:

Interesting fact is that my Means ancestors where one of the founding families of Shelby County, Indiana and surrounding areas. Some of my families are related to U.S. Presidents, royals and nobility and even a saint and a couple of hoodlums. And a wide variety of other characters. Some are war heroes and alike. It amazes me the people I find in my research. Some of my/our ancestry includes Irish, Scottish, Prussian/German, English, Welsh, Danish, Swedish, Native American, Italian, etc. The original family tree website started with Thomas & Charlotte Foster McCauley family history (If know any more info on Thomas or Charlotte please contact me. I have not "found" any information on their parents), that was collected by my 3rd Cousin Sallie, I would like to thank her, she made the websites possible. I also would like to thank, my 4th Cousin Martin for his input into the Archibald McCauley branch of the family tree. And of course I would like to acknowledge my 1st cousin Joyce & her dad (my late great-uncle) Harold G. McCauley for their input. Thank you the late Susan Diane Snider McCauley for some of the McCauley family pictures and information on the Clarence McCauley families and Margie Lane Barnette for information on the Lane Families. Most of the information I gather is from public records via Ancestry.com, Archives.com and from family and sometimes from obituaries that I read online or in the local newspapers. And I also use public court records too. If you see any errors let me know.. thank you for visiting the tree house. What Would the Dude Do? Contents © 2007-2023 Dan Means
