____________________________________________________________________________________ I NO LONGER UPDATE THIS SITE.
SEE "DJF FULL TREE" on Ancestry.co.uk for my personal tree. Blood relatives and spouses only on that tree. All other research I have done on Forrests is not public.
I've continued my subscription for the sake of accessing some of the photos and documents, but otherwise, some of the info is outdated.
I have added many more Forrests to my database but it has not been added to this page for a couple of years.
You may be interested in joining my Facebook page where you might make contact with other members researching the same Forrest lines as you. = Forrest surname in Scotland - https://www.facebook.com/groups/forrests.in.scotland

In spelling surnames, I've mostly used the more common or recent variation (alternatives or how recorded on OPR's are in the notes). However,I'm gradually changing that so the site reflects the spelling shown on the oldest record I have for a particular person.
Before 1855:
Date of birth is often the baptism / christening date.
Place of birth is often the place of baptism / christening.
Date of marriage is often the date the banns were read.
Where I haven't traced parents birth, I've usually estimated year of birth as 20 years prior to birth of the eldest child, or if date of marriage known, 20 years prior to that. The exception is when I've traced census records, in which case I use age on census as a guide.
Photographs on this site must not be reproduced without my permission (or the permission of the owner).
Too many people to mention have helped me gather the information on this site. However, I know who they are and I thank them.
