Aurand Name Meaning  French (Huguenot): variant of French Auran, which is probably of Germanic  origin.

THIS SITE IS IN HONOR OF OUR ANCESTORS WHO CAME TO THIS COUNTRY TO MAKE A  BETTER LIFE. AS YOU LOOK AROUND, YOU WILL FIND MANY OF OUR ANCESTORS WERE SONS and DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, AS WELL AS THE CONFEDRETE SONS AND DAUGHTERS.  WE ALSO HAVE ANCESTORS IN MANY MAJOR CONFLICTS AND BATTLES. OUR FOREFATHERS WERE VERY  UPSTANDING IN PERFORMING THEIR DUTIES. MANY OF THEM FOUGHT ALONG SIDE OF MANY PATRIOTS LIKE  JOHN PAUL JONES, DAVY CROCKETT, DANIEL BOONE, BEN FRANKLIN, AND JOHN HANCOCK, JUST TO  NAME A FEW.
 THE INVOLVEMENT BETWEEN THE STATES INCLUDED OUR FOREFATHERS TOO. THEY FOUGHT ON BOTH SIDES WITH DISTINCTION. SOME FOUGHT WITH GRANT, WHILE OTHER FOUGHT WITH LEE. WE AS DIRECT DESCENDANTS, SHOULD BE VERY PROUD TO HAVE SUCH PATRIOTS AS OUR FOREFATHERS.

My idea is for anyone viewing, to check for mistakes and to bring it to my  attention. Any additional information for the tree will benefit every one  viewing.

As you learn to navigate around the site, you will see that you can focus on a  single branch, or as far back as twenty generations. At this point I've gone  back to 0965, 34 generations.

We are from the third branch of the Aurand's, starting with Henry, Jacob, Joel, Edwin, and Ralph as the linage for our generation.

NOTE:  I am working on the Spafford line. I've found a link that takes me back to 0965 AD. Needless to say, it will take some time to enter all the names. At this point, I've gotten the main linage. Once completed, there will be over 5,000 names, which includes direct, marriages, and children.
