Welcome to my Tribal Pages Website. I hope you will enjoy browsing through in your search for any 'relatives'. Should you find an error anywhere, or if you feel you have something additional to offer, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
The tree has expanded considerably, as a result of my inclusion of the ancestral lines of my Grandchildren, which of course, include those of my Son-in-Law and my Daughter-in-Law. Perhaps one day they will be interested in their roots, and may even be able to expand that which is here, as more information becomes available.
Just a gentle word of warning - in some instances, I have tried to indicate the Birth/Death/Marriage Registration records obtained from FreeBMD (for whom I transcribe). Should you wish to use these for your own research, then I urge you to double check the particulars, before you do so. There could be errors in the original transcriptions and, of course, in my transfer of the details.
Church records sometimes show 'Christenings' whilst others show 'Baptisms'. A Church of England statement to the question of - 'What is the difference between a baptism and a christening?' gives the answer: 'There is no difference between a christening service and a baptism service. Some churches will use the word 'baptism' and some the word 'christening'. Babies are 'baptised' during a 'christening' service just as couples are 'married' during a wedding service. Christening is a traditional English word which means to become a member of the Christian church. Baptism means to be immersed in water. During a christening service a baby or child will be baptised with water and welcomed into the community of the local church.
