About Davidson of Kiah
Please sign in to see more.
Our Davidson family began in Australia with the arrival of Alexander Walker Davidson
and his wife Jane Simpson and their children from Aberdeen, Scotland in 1842. After a
short period in Sydney they moved to Eden on the South Coast of New South Wales
where they owned and operated the Davidson Whaling Station at Eden on Twofold Bay
near the Kiah Inlet. Alexander and his sons and their sons operated the whaling
station until its closure in 1930.
Our Davidson side includes the Collie, Collins, Naughton, Simpson, Leslie, Brownlie, Dent, Lyons,
Stephens, Walker, Bryant, Sinclair, Russell, Faith, Golab, de Iongh familes and many others. Our
mother's side are the Freeman family which incorporates Dawson, Ronan, Ryan, White
and all the families that have joined those families to become part of a much bigger
family. Our family has become joined to the Moore family which includes Flynn,
Minter, Fitzgibbon, and Sheean families.
We would like all our family members and extended family members to find this tree a
useful resource for our children and our children's children. We welcome
contributions from all arms of our family. We appreciate each and everyone of you.
I would like to pay special tribute to the work of Rene Davidson who passed away in
2008. Rene had already done a great amount of work on parts of the Davidson tree
before his passing and that work is incorporated here. I also acknowledge the work of
Donald Davidson and his work 'Davidson of Kiah'.
Please feel free to sign our guest book. We would love to hear from all our extended
family members.

Getting Around There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.
In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool. |
