Felix DeMay was born on October 5, 1880. As a teenager, he immigrated from Belgium, landing in the United States and going to Canada, where he worked as a lumberjack. Eventually, he came to America and settled in Gladstone. Felix went to work as a bartender for Peter DeHooghe, who held some importance in Gladstone. Mr. DeHooghe sponsored the immigration of many Belgians who came to America. Felix subsequently married Peter DeHooghe's daughter, Mary in 1923 -- Felix at the age of 42, Mary at the age of 18. Children of Felix and Mary are Teresa, Louise, Peter, John, Henry, Joseph and Mary Lou (better known as Felicia). This family constitutes the hub of this website and extends to spouses (and their respective families), children, grandchildren, great grandchildren - and forward.
