About Roche Family Killaloe Ontario
Both John Roche b.1766 and Elizabeth Dunn b.1777 were from Wexford Ireland. His birth registration and their marriage are recorded there as well. With both names being common in southern Ireland, getting back further has it challenges. For now I am more interested in trying to determine their path to Canada. We know they were in Leeds Grenville by 1801 and perhaps as early as 1796.

They appear to have initially settled in upstate NY (Rome /Syracuse) prior to crossing the St. Lawrence. I have been focusing on that area recently. Any help, hints or suggestions would be appreciated. .

I am descended from their son Martin and his wife, Barbara Green, married in Perth Ontario in 1832. My great grand parents on the Roche side are Martin Roche Jr. born 1841 in Westport Ontario and Susan O'Neill born 1849 in Buckingham Quebec.

On my maternal side, Cuddy, Coyne and Ring are the prominent names and all were settled in the Brudenell Ontario area mid 1800s.
