About The Talduwa Dias Family of Yakkalamulla.
The Dias Family is from a Township called Yakkalamulla in Talpe Pattu in the District  of Galle in the Southern Provice of Sri Lanka. Yakkalamulla is situated along Udugama- Hiniduma Road 23 KM from the City of Galle. This village is sourrounded with paddy  fields, Tea and Rubber Plantations. All residents in this village are Sinhala  Buddhists.

Dias family belongs to the upper middle class and were respected by the villagers.  Elias Dias was a planter and he owned several acres of Tea and paddy lands.He  studied at St. Anthony's English Mixed School at Ganegama, Baddegama. He had two  brothers and one sister. He got married to Yasawathie Wijenayake of Ahangama. They  had 2 daughters Padma & Indrani and 2 sons Hemachandra & Asoka. After the death of  the parents all properties at Yakkalamulla were sold by the children. Now Padma lives at Kapugama in Devi Nuwara, Indrani at Maharagama, Hemachandra at Nugegoda and Asoka in New Zealand.

The Ancestors of Talduwa Gamage Hinni Appuhamy is believed to have come from Talduwa, Ahangama and  settled down in Divelwatte, Digaredda. 

About Talduwa Gamage Hinni Appuhamy 

Hinni Appuhamy's father TALDUWA GAMAGE APPUHAMY had come to Digaredda in Ahangama from the village called Talduwa and settled down there after marriage. He had died when the children were young. Mother had brought up the 5 sons and the daughter. Three brothers (2nd, 3rd and 4th) have left to Teldeniya for better prospects leaving the eldest and the youngest brothers at home. The three brothers have started a business in Teldeniya. After earning a considerable sum of money 2nd & 4th brothers have handed over the business to the 3rd brother and had come to Udugama where they started a new business. The only sister was given in marriage to a family in Puwakwatta at Udumalagala. Eldest brother who was at home, got married from Obada Gedera in Udumalagala. Third brother who stayed back in Teldeniya, got married to one WICKRAMAPATHIRANA from Koombiyangoda, Matale and settled down there. Second brother Hinni Appuhamy got married to Dona Ceciliyana, eldest daughter of Udumalagala Gamage Don Simon de Silva Loku Appuhamy of Kidimihila Kanaththa Yakkalamulla. Youngest son T.G.Sauwdiyas Gunawardena who was at home got married to Matilda Gunasekera of Andugoda. Thereafter Hinni Appuhamy handed over his business to his other brother in Udugama and started a business in Yakkalamulla. Hinni Appuhamy and Dona Ceciliyana had six children. Eldest child a son died at the age 2. Second child Coranelis, Third child Elias, Fourth child who was a daughter also died, Fifth child Andrayas and the sixth child is Ceciliyana. Sauwdiyas Gunawardena and Matilda had 9 children and they live in Andugoda, Ahangama

Talduwa Gamage Elias Dias of Yakkalamulla married Game Kankanamge Yasawathie Wijenayake of  Ahangama. She is the daughter of Game Kankanamge Don Thevis Wijenayake of Ahangama and Dona  Patricia Lambertha Samarasinghe Wickramarathna of Matara and a grand daughter of Talpe Game  Kankanamge Don Wijenayake of Habaraduwa and  D.S.Samarasinghe WICKRAMARATNE of Matara and and Great Grand daughter of Hiniduma  Liyanage Dassanayaka Gunasekera  of Galketiya, Ahangama.
