About white family ancestors
Please sign in to see more.
Paternal grandfather Harry White's father (who fought at Gettysburg) was raised by his grandfather Harry Soule descendant for George Soule who came on Mayflower

Ancestor of my paternal grandmother Bertha Sherman was Reverend John Sherman who emigrated 1634. His wife Mary Launce was the granddaughter of Sir Edward Darcy and has two very well documented royal ancestral lines to Edward III King of England. (NEHGR) Thus with these royal lines there are an unusual number of documented ancestors.

Six ancestors buried Westminster Abbey; 704 knights of which 16 were Knights of the Garter; 629 were Lords of manors; 177 were constables or sheriffs; 101 were Earls; 93 were Dukes or Duchesses; 78 went on crusades; 73 were members of parliament; 161 were Kings or Queen Consorts some of England; Scotland, France - some of very small kingdoms

9 ancestors were hanged; 6 were beheaded; 7 were poisoned; 9 died in prison (two of which were a mother and her son who King John placed in prison and then walled off their cell to let them die of starvation) 3 died in tournaments; 87 died in battle; 28 were murdered (cause not specified); 1 was boiled in molten lead

Unusual ancestors 1 was a witch (Jane Lillie) who was imprisoned but released 1 was felt to be a Vampire - most likely died of tuberculosis - when other family members quickly then started becoming pale and dying it was felt she had come out of the grave and drank their blood - after she was dug up and her heart cut out - the dying stopped

18 ancestors were monks and 9 were nuns - (all late in life after their children were raised and spouses had died) 11 ancestors were protestant reverends - 6 were educated at Cambridge 3 were bishops
 14 ancestors were Saints
