About The Ebach Family Tree
Please sign in to see more.
This web site of my ancestors, which include Ebachs, Tschirharts, Thiessens, Buhrs, Regiers and Fischers, is open to anyone to view. Since I have no offspring to share this information with, I want everyone to be able to view this family tree. Three quarters of my ancestors were Dutch Mennonites (Thiessens, Buhrs, Regiers and Fischers) while one quarter (Ebachs and Tschirharts) were Roman Catholics from Alsace- Lorraine, of mixed German/French ancestry (depending on which country ruled that province at the time of their birth, life, etc.) The latter migrated to Ontario, Canada, starting in the 1850s and then to the Ruth, Huron County, Michigan, USA, area, before some of the Ebachs turned up in Saskatchewan in the early 1900s.

My Mennonite ancestors originated in the northern provinces of the Netherlands in Friesland and Gronigen in the early 1500s and as they were persecuted during the Protestant Reformation, they migrated to Prussia, Poland and other Germanic lands, living there for about 200 years before being invited by Czarina Catherine the Great to inhabit southern Russia in the late 1700s, and then migrated to America in the mid- 1870s, and finally to Saskatchewan just before 1900, when there was still free homestead land in Canada.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
