About The Earnshaw Family
Earnshaw meaning Eagle Wood. 
 The Earnshaw family came over with William the Conqueror, or at least in his  footsteps as they seem to have left St Vallery dur Somme (Piccardy) in  1068/69.They were falconers and minor lords.
 By 1326 Richard de Eanshagge (Earnshaw)was Lord of Wakefield and Agbrigg.  However, it was also said that the Earnshaws had lived in the area since  before Norman times and were a Norse family.
 For about 1000 years Earnshaws have lived on the Pennines, stretching from the  Peak District up to the Yorkshire Dales.
 The Earnshaws have a tremendous scientific/engineering background eg Thomas  Earnshaw (renowned clockmaker) Samuel Earnshaw (Theorem on magnetics) and  Earnshaw Hall at Sheffield University and several scholarships were endowed by  the Earnshaw family.
 This particular Earnshaw family tree has been traced back as far as Norfolk and Suffolk from where  a number of them moved and settled in London. They were involved with engineering with  both rail and shipping connections.Daniel Earnshaw snr was a marine engineer  who was contracted by the Spanish government to be Foreman of the Arsenal in  Manila, Philippines.It is from his first wife that the Filipino side of the  family developed and the English family from his second wife.It is interesting  to note that his first family were given Spanish first names whereas the  family from his second wife (also filipina) were given English names and were recorded as  British citizens.

The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
