About The Forest of EDANN
this site is updated on a daily basis and current activity is a continual addition of
families information.
This site attempts to expand the links between seven branches of my family:
The Hall and Kelly families from Roscommon in Ireland,(my own paternal line).
The Ratcliffe family who are my maternal line.
The Fitzgerald family who are linked to my family through marriage to the
Ratcliffe family.
The Haden/Hadden family, linked through marriage to the Ratcliife line.
The Clews family from Redditch, Worcestershire (my wife's paternal line)
The Tansley family, originating in Cottingham, (my wife's maternal line)
The Innes family from Grantown-on-Spey , Morayshire (my son-in-law's line)
Many of the individuals entered my not yet link into the main tree but are included in the hope
that links will materialise.
Many of the notes included against individuals are quoted exactly as found and therefore some
of the language used is rather archaic. Some of those notes are for my guidance and so may mean
little to a visitor. Dates of EVENTS will, in many cases, be approximate, usually linked to the
last day of the quarter in which a record is found.
I am certain that there will be some duplication of names and other errors and I would be
pleased to hear from anyone who can point out any duplication, errors, and/or omissions which I
can then correct.
Please do remember that this is a work in progress and consequently the site will be updated
frequently and so you may like to return often to view changes.
For those of you with wider interests I have a large database of Scottish Clans
information which currently includes the names of INNES, INNES-KER, KER/KERR, OGILVIE, FORBES,
GRANT, HAY, etc. More will be added to my database in the future. Should you wish to ask for
information on these Scottish families please email me.
This site may contain errors and is currently undergoing a thorough review.

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
