JAN 2008 - WASLEY FAMILY GATHERING IN RAETIHI

Descendants of Doris & Samuel Wasley gathered together for the placing of a headstone on her grave in the Raetihi Public Cemetery. Three surviving siblings (out of nine) were in attendance along with the majority of their descendant children/grandchildren.



The purpose of this website is to enable descendants of "Wasley's" who  originated from England to identify their family ancestors. It contains  information on the following pioneering family groups:

Ship: Name and dates of travel to be confirmed
 Parents: William & Jane Wasley
 Children: Catherine Jane (b. 1845) and a brother (details to be confirmed)

Ship: "Christian McAusland" departed London 13/9/1872 and arrived in Port Chalmers, Dunedin NZ 5 December 1872.


Passenger Shipping List

Parents: William Trebilcock/Wasley & Caroline Peters: 
 Children: Mary Jane (b.1868), Elizabeth (b.1870). An infant son George (b. 1872) died and was buried at sea enroute to NZ.

Ship: "Waitangi" departed England 12/7/1877 and arrived in Port Lyttelton,  Chistchurch NZ 4 October 1877.
 Parents: Edwin Davis Wasley & Ellen Betteridge from Gloucestershire. Children: George Thomas (b. 1868)William Harry(b.1870)Ellen Maria (b. 1872) Edwin Charles (b.1884) and Fredrick John (b.1876).

Ship: "Hudson" Departed Plymouth (Date TBC)and arrived Napier NZ 14/3/1879 Parents:  George & Louisa Wasley: Origins to be confirmed (TBC). Children: Elizabeth (b.1871)Richard (b.1875) and Harriet (birth date TBC)

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list.
