My name is Donna and this is my 'family tree'.

Surnames in all capitals, is my 'direct' Ancestry.

I was born in and still reside in County Durham, England and it is here where a very large proportion of my ancestors were born and made their home for generations. Further afield, they came from the areas of  Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, to Durham, hence 'County Durham & Beyond'.......

The areas of Durham where a lot of my ancestry resides, is Auckland & Hartlepool.
I have ancestry that goes back to the early 16th century in both Auckland & Hartlepool, that spans over the centuries to present day.

Almost every single person in my tree, is a 'blood related' relative of mine, (with exception of those who married in), either immediate, recent or more distant cousins. As well going backwards, I'm also going sideways and forwards, looking for living ''descendents',  who descend from the same 'direct' ancestors as I. 

95% of the research was done by myself and through purchasing records from Durham Records Online, GRO Index and a purchased  Ancestry & Find My Past subscription. I have also found Family Search to be very helpful. That is the 'records' themselves, not the personal family trees, which are not that reliable.

I am a ‘direct’ descendent of Edward III Of England and through my grandmother
x8, Margaret Metcalfe, c 1657-1690, ‘first’ wife of Daniel Lascelles 1655-1734.

I am an 8th Great Grand-daughter of Daniel Lascelles M.P. 1655 & his first wife Margaret Metcalfe (d.1690) and through my great x2 grandmother, Maria Eleanor Lascelles 1862-1929. Daniels second wife Mary, is the lineage of which the Earls of Harewood descend.

I am an 8th Cousin x1 removed of the current Earl of Harewood, David Henry
George Lascelles.

I am a 4th Cousin x3 removed of Sir Ian Fife Campbell Anstruther 1922-2007

I am a 4th Cousin x2 removed of Dame Maggie Teyte DBE 1888-1976, world renowned Operatic Soprano & interpreter of French Art Song.

I am a 4th Cousin x2 removed of James William Tate 1872-1922, songwriter, accompanist, composer and producer of revues and pantomimes in the early years of the 20th century.

I am a 4th Cousin x1 removed of David Mervyn Blow 1931-2004, influential British biophysicist. He was best known for the development of X-ray crystallography, a technique used to determine the molecular structures of tens of thousands of biological molecules.
