About My Families History
Please sign in to see more. To forget one's Ancestors is to be a brook without a source, a tree without a root. As with living trees, my Family Tree is continually growing.
On a day working from home is 2006, I clicked on an emailed link from a website I had received. It requested known family history details. I entered my Great Grandfathers name 'Walter Morgan' born 1888 - I knew the year he had died and his age, my Great Grandmothers name but had no further information, other than the village in Devon where they had lived.
I had no idea of his ancestry and neither did my Gran. The only fact she knew for sure was that her Dad, Walter Morgan married her Mother, Mabel Alice Hutchings and that she was born and raised in Silverton, Devon ... she had never met her Fathers parents and knew nothing about them. After an initial 'quick search' and a further many years I discovered all the documented facts on this Family History webpage.
I have kept the surnames spelt in their original form (as taken from Baptism/Marriage documents) In some cases spelling variants often occurred over the years i.e. Symons/Simmons - Hutchings/Hutchins.
All entries have been cross-referenced and secondary sources have been found. When a name appears in a Census I have looked for Birth/Baptism or marriage record and all sources can be found in the citations.
I have copies, or a reference to copies of all Parish Registry Entries (Pre-1837) and Birth/Marriage Entries (Post 1837)
I hope you find the information on this website interesting and informative - please do sign the guestbook, and also please ask permission before using any photos on this site. |
